Towns in County Meath.

Trim situated in County Meath on the banks of the river Boyne, is presided over by the largest Norman castle in Europe built there in 1174 by Hugh de Lacy. The castle is open to the public and regular yours are available. Trim is a designated heritage town.

The rather poor image on the right is of Castle street, walking along here, and indeed many other places in the town on a summer evening, the air is heavy with scent wafting from flower baskets and boxes, with which the town is bedecked, even the parapets of the road and foot bridge bridges are amply supplied, a credit to the town and its people.

Trim is a typical Irish country town, it possesses a wide variety of shops and facilities, and would make an ideal base to explore the midlands and east coast.
