This is a ruined tower house built by Maurice fitzGerald about A.D. 1215 It is six storeys high with stepped battlements above the roof line. It is unusual in that it has more arrow loops than are seen on contemporary buildings. Just north of the house is a round tower which had been part of the Bawn wall.
