Jameson's distillery dates bach to the eighteenth century, it was built on the banks of the Dungourney River which supplied water to a wheel powering the distillery until the arrival of electricity. The wheel on the site now was installed in 1852 by Mr. William Fairbairn (1789 - 1874) an English engineer, the wheel worked continously until 1975, it is srill running and can be seen.

Today visitors can take a guided tour of the distillery, which lasts about 90 minutes, during this tour you will see the largest copper pot in the world it is estimated that it holds 32,000 gallons 145,472 liters. There is an audio visual display available in six languages, ant the end of the tour you are invited to try some of Ireland's finest in a traditional whiskey.
